2007 Tournament Recap

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

What a year! We had a very successful year in 2007 for Washers for Wellness. We were able to send over $20,000 to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association to help find a cure for the disease. We were honored in their annual news letter as well – Thanks to all of you! We are looking forward to a great 6th Annual event on June 7, 2008.

Other note worthy news: Last year was the first year we completely sold out!! We have space for 128 teams for the tournament and we sold out 2 weeks before the event… you know what this means for this year… space will be even more limited!! Please be sure to register early as we anticipate this year being another huge success! We appreciate all your support in our fight to raise money to find a cure for this horrible disease. We are looking forward to your continued support in 2008!

Photos have been posted from the 2007 Tournament.

How big are those Washers anyway?

Hey Washers players, We recently received a great comment from a visitor that we feel is worthy of mentioning on the site. Al from Seattle wrote:

Hi, The Washers for Wellness “about” page includes the text “… washers (small round disks 1″ in diameter).” From the pictures, it appears that you are probably using washers 2.5″ in diameter, as are used in most washer pitching games. These are indeed known as 1? washers, but that is the diameter of the center hole, not the diameter of the disk. Best wishes, Al Seattle

Al, you are absolutely right. Our original thought was to use the phrase 1″ diameter washer because that is the name they are sold under at most hardware stores. However, as Al mentioned the outside diameter of the washer is 2.5″. We have taken the liberty to adjust the phrasing on the about page, and we hope this will clear up any confusion. We greatly value our visitor feedback. If you have a comment please feel free to contact us. Thank you, Washers for Wellness Inc.
